 This is an image of a blue geode. In its natural color it is easy recognizable, but I'm hoping it's a little tougher to identify in its inverted state!
Editing Steps:
Open raw file in Nikon Capture NX, convert to 16 bit tiff
In Photoshop -
Shadow/Highlight adjustment
Levels adjustment
Invert
Resize to 640
Convert to 8 bit
Neat Image noise reduction/sharpening
Save for web

It looks like it could be one of those stones that have the crystals inside. But really I have no idea what it is. I like the shapes, and the colour combination is quite beautiful, very soft, very pleasant. ~8

Some kind of rock formation... like quartz? Like the soft scalloped sections at the sides in contrast with the harsh jagged lines. This doesn't even look like it could be real. Definitely a puzzle macro!

This is so cool! One of my top picks!
Guess: It's a rock crystal, like a geode, backlit and frontlit.
Bottom line - beautiful! (It inspires two valleys bordering a moutain range in my minds eye.)
