 My son, walking through an interactive sculpture outside the Blanton Museum, Austin, Tx.

I took a different approach on negative space after looking it up in wikipedia. I'm sure it won't score well. But I've given up on pleasing everyone. I just decided to do what I like.

great use of light and shadow, I even like the border, but, in keeping with the challenge, I really also like the length and the negative space.

I like how the frame tells me the white in the photo is there on purpose. It's a subtle way to tell the viewer that you know what you are doing.

I like this a lot. I like how the figure of the boy is so dark, and really emphasizes the light tones of the sculpture.

The whole thing looks more like a drawing than a photograph, right down to the trees and stuff in the background.

Great choice to crop it so long and thin, too.

Dunno why I am jsut now seeing this but I would've ten'd it. Superb darks and lights and the subject is extremely interesting and thought provocative. I really like this a lot.

I'll add a bit to my in challenge comment. really this is a great photo, very interesting, unique, technically fine, definitely one of the best in the challenge. Compositionally, in terms of the challenge, a crop from one side or the other may have added a bit of tension that would help the photo. At first I thought coming in from the R would be best but Im not sure now, perhaps from the L? Anyway, I totally agree with you - do what you like... it's fantastic.

this would have worked better for me if you'd cropped out the stuff on the R side of the picture. instead of a person with very interesting neg space you now have a background that completes
