I know you guys are smart! You will probably get this one.

It's part of an adjustable wrench. The part that you use to make the adjustments.

The Poor Woman's Macro:
I purchased some old Canon FD lenses a guy at work had in his garage collecting dust for very little money. I got a macro coupling ring for about 8 dollars and made a macro lens by taking my Canon 50MM f1/8 II, a 52mm 250D closeup lens, coupling ring, and an old 28mm Canon FD reverse mounted. I also used my flash on an off camera shoe cord with a diffuser. Still learning about the flash.

I am really surprised how close I could get. I had to focus by moving, but I had a blast taking photos of things close up.

Rotated, Sharpened, adjusted color, added warming filter, adjusted level, curves and applied NN.

I know I've seen this before but where...it's sort of a screw...could it go to a meat grinder or pencil sharperner (old one) Nice lighting and DOF.

post challenge edit...DOH! As soon as I read your description I felt like a moron, I should have known what that was...I hope I don't lose my man card for that...nice job.

There's another photo in the challenge that I think is of the same object but your's is a closer macro. Is it the turning machanism on a wrench? Good DOF and lighting here.

Looks like a closer view of the crescent wrench the other person submitted. Good detail, but lacking light, maybe on purpose to mystify it. [thumb]537321[/thumb]

Cool macro. I love the dark background. It makes the edges of the subject pop. Cool bokeh effect going on the top left. First glance I thought it was three rings. Tones fit well with what ever this is. Great idea to use a diagonal composition. A horizontal or vertical would not have had as much impact. Hope it does well.
