This is a close up of the name "Richard Love" on the Vietnam Memorial after a morning wash. I took this Father's Day morning before a flower laying ceremony attended by the families of lost fathers, and it seemed fitting that Love represented the Wall and sacrifice of the fathers listed thereon.

A last name on the Vietnam wall?

I wish all the letters were in focus. Nice image though.

At first I was thinking your DOF was too narrow since you are close to lossing the L and O but the more I look at it the more I like it. The water could be left off but because of it's material I'm thinking it is a headstone or memorial of some sort and the water makes me think of tears on it so they are good there. Good job.

Grave stone? Yes, Love is always the answer! :)

nice

This photo is well taken, but that's about it. It's not very abstract or puzzling. Sure I don't know exactly what engraved stone this is, but that's what it is. Using the max of 640 px on your longest side will help a lot. I'm also confused by the white stripe down the right side.

Grave stone marker?
06/21/2007 07:59:52 AM
not very "puzzling"

Good lighting but DOF is too shallow. I like the idea though.

not sure nice shot through

06/20/2007 11:24:56 AM
a plaque with names on it???
06/20/2007 08:49:47 AM
I don't know what this is on...but it looks marble, like a headstone. anyway, I love the lighting emphasising the word, and the droplets are great. I really like this one.

Memorial
06/20/2007 07:50:23 AM
nice idea , but would be better if the whole word love is in full focus instead of the letters ve and a few above and below it.
06/20/2007 06:25:50 AM
Words etched onto marble or stone......not sure this is enough of a "puzzle" for this challenge but your DOF is good and the water drops add interest but catch the glare from the flash which might be too harsh.
