Looks like a photo of a purple leaf that was cut into the shape of a puzzle? And the pieces do not match.

If this is a negative of your original photo, it is white paper cut in shape of puzzle pieces placed on top of a green leaf.

Cute idea....paper in the shape of a puzzle over a leaf. Not sure I like the colour of the leaf though, I think green would work better. Leaf doesn't seem in focus or clear.

Veins of a leaf behind a cutout stencil of puzzle shapes which you then altered the color of in post processing? I like that the main vein goes through both puzzle shapes.

This definitely looks like puzzle pieces, and I think it really is two puzzle pieces that don't match and are part of a much bigger picture.
