 I shot a similar image sometime ago, but couldn't fully recreate it in the time I had available and under basic editing rules. Either the shadow looked good, or the razor, but no both.

I therefore took a shot of the shadow ( this is a genuine shadow) Printed it off and put the razor in front of the print to create the final image

Here is the original I lit the image from below to ensure the shadow would be off the final image.

Processing steps
A lot of playing in RAW converter to try and lighten the background whilst keeping the shadow strong.
Then in in CS3
Levels adjustment
Colour adjustment
Cloned some sensor dust to left of shadow
Neat image
Cropped to Size
Sharpened
Added Boarder of about 10% grey to make the image look whiter
Saved for DPC

Something about this photo grabs me...I'm really not sure what. Maybe its because your placemnt and lighting has given the razor humanlike qualities.

Um, ok....I like the shadow image. Great title. The color is almost too bold for the image as the shadow color is so soft. Great idea.
