Shot of the acetabular and femoral head components of a hip replacement prosthesis. Lit with room lighting and a blue LED torch. Converted from RAW and taken to PS7. Rotated, cropped, adjustments to saturation and contrast and USM.

Post challenge: OK, I sorta 'cheated' in my choice of subject matter, because not too many people were going to recognise this no matter how it was photographed. I just happened to have this lying around at work and thought it would make a cool shot. Didn't really work out quite as I would have liked, but it was fun to read people's guesses all the same.

well my first guess was part of a cars wheel assembly but I don't know of any that would look this cool, even on pimped out cars. Only other guess I have is a speaker...it is cool whatever it is. Well done.

post challenge...wow guess I was off lol. Nice job, you deserved a better finish.

Sooo close for me, I would like to see the DOF a little wider do that i can clearly see the top of the CD mount. It's just a little soft to my eyes.

I really like this, the balance of light, color and mettalic is nice. almost looks like the inside of a brake rotor, only prettier.

This almost looks like a lens. I like the composition and colours but it looks a bit oversharpened.
