This is excellent. I recall this one clearly from the challenge - I visited with it for awhile. Sadly, I didn't have time to comment while voting (took me four days just to vote it all!) but this is one of my top tier pics. |

Jack
Glad you got a decentish score for that because when I saw it and loved it I felt that that was enough to give it the kiss of death. Should have realised such cool B&W tones and contrasts could only belong to one person
Meant to say/ask in my original post was the bird (seagull) something you waited for or just fortuitous, either way it really adds something to the perspective of the shot |

This doesn't say backside to me. It says from below. Love the bird.

Nice idea. It took me a second to figure out that I was looking straight up and not at a railing on the ground. |

love this! there are so many little details in this that are great. the only thing that bothers me is that this is more of an 'underside' than a 'backside', but since it's a fire escape, I guess it technically is still in the back, so I won't score you down for it. good luck! |

Very nice dynamic composition that gets you going from one side to the other to finish on the bird. This bird really does it for me. It brings an otherwise static shot to life. I love this. |

I like the bw and the contrast of this. I think cropping a bit on either end so that we couldn't see where it stops and starts would be a bit more effective though. |

really nice. I thought it was a railing in front of a body of water first. |

Not sure how this is going to do in the challenge but I love it. Firstly because it embraces the nature of the challenge (to photograph the side less seen) and secondly because it has been so well executed. Lovely dof and B&W conversion |

Took me a little while to work out what and how I was looking at! I like when that happens! A refreshingly different and excellent perspective! |
