Ok. and the story:
I had a 7 hour photo shoot with some fire spinners (Nick and Dave), involving body painting, random flammable substances, crazy posing and setups, all sorts of things. This picture was a random little interlude in the middle of it, and about the only time of the night when I wasn't the one pressing the shutter button. It was about 3 hours into it, and Nick wanted "some kinky photos to send his girlfriend", so I set up the shot, Dave was pressing the shutter button, and I was standing to the left and cracking a fire whip at Nick. I was almost tempted to submit the uncropped version with the title "Pure debauchery", but this one works better :) (god, the power of context...)
Editing - basic adjustments: levels, selective colour, brightness/contrast, shadows/highlights, usm, neat image.

beautiful and underrated shot. sorry I didn't vote in this challenge you'd've gotten a high score from me. oh wait, you showed me this, so I would've skipped it. I guess you were just doomed. :) |

Very wicked way cool. Or hot if you happend to be Nick. I love what you do with fire and a camera! It's a portal trying to suck him in... |

Oh, the challenge rules are quite specific about this. You photo must be "taken and post-processed by you. Someone else may press the shutter button if you set up the shot and the camera settings. No one else may post-process your entry for you." The camera was on manual settings, which were adjusted by me at the start. Also the zoom, the angle of the shot, etc. were all picked by me, the person pressing the shutter button was quite specifically told to do just that. I can give you examples of ribbon winners doing exactly this, it's not all that uncommon. |

This picture makes me feel both serene and anxious. I like how the long strands of light blend into and mimic the grass, and I appreciate the yoga pose! Great job! |
