 An acorn in the process of becoming a sapling oak tree... the background looks a little odd because it was taken on a black board with a coarse grain; also, I used curves to increase contrast and give a slightly posterized effect...crop,levels, curves, color balance, selective color,hue/saturation, usm
the sapling was replanted after being photographed...
