I know, Lisa. I screwed up. I thought the rules were referring to dates of submission. I have apologized about six tmes for this error, and I will not be posting here anymore. No hard feelings, I just realize now that it is most likely that I won't be able to get out and get the shots necessary (and have any creative thought put into them ) if it is required that they be date specific.

Again, I truly am sorry. It was a mistake. I'm embarrassed for being a space cadet.

I thank you for your kind comments about the image, especially considering the circumstances. Actually, I got pretty crappy reviews, so in the end, everything worked out as it should have, I guess.

BTW, I really like your screen name! It cracks me up!

Just call me 'red faced in New Jersey'. It was a blast while it lasted.

Wow, some not-so-great comments on my photo, which is a POTD from March on another site! Yikes! I've also sold this photo quite successfully as a greeting card!
I think that if I continuedto enter these for critiques that I might stop taking photos altogether, LOL! Anyway, thanks to all who commented, good or bad, and for your helpful critiques.
For what it's worth, the colors, and the plate were all intentional. I thought the yellow pairs with the green and pink hues of the plate against the plaid table cloth was a bit 'different', color-scheme wise, and I still like it just as it is.

I think you have a nice idea here.. and the angle of the pears with their stems pointing into the frame is a good start. However, I think the choice of background and colors in the plate are distracting - too many patterns and uncoordinated colors. Focus is a bit soft, but not too bad.

Nice set up shot. No glaring issues, just low interest extra credit. 8 Swash

This is a good, natural shot. The lighting is very good, and the paper plate on the plaid table cloth accentuates a 'country living' theme. A very nice composition. Good job!

When looking at the thumbnail of this I didnt think that I was going to like it. But seeing the full size I really like the colors and composition. Looks like its setting on the kitchen table.Good work 8 boyte1

Good composition, good lighting, high quality shot. Meets the challenge. But, there's something not quite right that I can't quite put my finger on; perhaps it's subliminal – only I can't abide pearsâ€Â¦ (7)

The pears are very attractive, but the background doesn't add anything to the picture. 5

We have those same paper plates! I think they add a nice touch of color behind the pears. The focus and clarity are great. I love the detail on the pears. The background behind the plate adds a bit of "coutry" look. The angle and framing is great. I like how the pears are off centered, rather than centered. Great job. Good luck in the challenge. ~HBunch7187~

Very nice image. A more pleasing plate might have pushed me to an 8 or 9. 7 Jak

I like the composition of this and the way the plate curves through the picture. Teh colors seem a little off to me, though. They blend together. Maybe if the pears had been brighter, and the plate was a solid color and it was on a contrasting surface it would have more punch. Still a nice job, though. karmat
