Taken in Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto's city hall square. I happened to notice the father holding and feeding his little daughter while talking on his cell phone. In a few minutes, he put away his cell phone and this scene is what I then saw and shot. I shot a few more pictures of the man and child. He noticed me shooting them, and I went over and showed him the shot I'd just taken. He seemed happy with it. Shot in JPEG and edited in PS CS 2. I cropped a very little, did some cloning out in the foreground (a bit of a gull, plus cigarette butts, etc.), and did a bit of selective lightening with curves to make the shadow across the man's face less obvious. A bit of local contrast sharpening (USM at 20, 50, 3) and, after resizing, a bit of Smart Sharpen. |

The shadows fall a little awkwardly here. |

If you woulda moved a couple of steps to your right you would have missed the ugly fence. You also would have gotten more of dads face but maybe not so much of babies...
