You make me grin!! This is a wonderful, striking image of nail clipers. Great angles and colors. (pssst, this turned out better in your living room than if you set it up in your kitchen studio) |

Oh, it's so nice to read your comments and realize I'm not the only one doing that! Was worth the effort though... you ended up with a nice shot! |

I had to laugh when I read your notes. Sunday I hurt my back taking a photo of a cream pitcher! Something about the way I was bending to peer through the viewfinder.
Anyway, I like your composition and lighting. I agree you should clone out the spots, and maybe clean your lens or sensor. It could also be the backdrop -- I learned this week how easily posterboard becomes soiled. :-{

I had to look at this a looooooong time to figure it out. I thought it was a closed clipper in the vertical position, but now I figured out it's open and pointed away, so the handle ends are above and below near us. Excellent shot, perfectly lined up and focused. |

Veryf cool, it does look sci-fi like. The reflection on itself really make this shot. I will agree that the dirt, which I belive is on you backdrop, should be cloned outso it doesn't take attention away from your subject. Well done! |

Not only does your tripod look like something out of Star Wars - your clippers do too ;) Good angle for an interesting shot:) |

My sensor is PRETTY clean, although it has one tiny spot that I know of, and at f36 against a white background it would certainly show. Most smudges, though (I cannot see any, perhaps because of the gamma calibration of my monitor and the fact that I have bright lights on right now?) would be on the backdrop, which is a piece of posterboard that has been none too carefully stored. |

That is cool. This works for me, being centered. I can see a bit of dirt specks in there and a smudge of something. Is your lens or sensor clean? |
