 Well, resorting to the good ol' dandelion to pull me through. Hopefully not too bad of a score as this is the first image for the MS photo challenge.. i really wanna make it at least to round two :S

after challenge:
Some people wondered how this was painting with light. Well - i too a little flashlight and slowly went around the outside of the dandilion with the light pointing in. I was hoping to make the outer rim a lot lighter than the inside. It worked to a certain degree but not as strongly as I had hoped. I think quite a few people were not able to see that this was 'painted with light'

Hi Tyler,
Wonderful image of a delicate hard to shoot subject. Your comp & framing are just fine. I really like that we get to see the entire structure of the subject without losing any quality. I think the image could have been a bit more crisp, but again this subject is not as easy to shot as people beleave even under controlled conditions. The only thing that was a bit of a distraction was your choice of border. I think going with just the black background would have been a better choice, the white just seems to take away from the image.

interesting approach with a macro - the focus could be sharper and the seeds are a little over blown (sorry for the pun)
