 Cigarette lighter, my hand, sitting on the toilet trying to keep my hand as still as possible whilst getting slightly burnt. Light the lighter in the palm of your hand and then move it away. The sparks from the flint create the lighting in the palm.

Set exposure and ISO to the lowest they can go to make the background as dark as posisble for contrast against the flames.

Not much done really since its a basic challenge:

Cropped so hand is centralised,
Contrast,
USM (uniformly to comply with Basic Editing),
Border,
SFW.

The fire doesn't quite look like flames, too narrow of a source.

interesting effort - the tops of the flames seem a little stunted but the color is good

An OK idea the hand moved during the shot and the light doesnt look in focue but the result is OK Good Luck

That's a good idea, but the hand is fuzzy due to the long exposure. Lighting the hand only briefly with a flash would have solved this, but the light would have had a different color. Fairly complicated image :)
