This was actually a candid quick shot. Yes they both were upset, and yes they are my mother and wife. I shot this from the hip at them without adjusting anything because I didn't want them to realize that they were standing that way and move.

The picture is sharp and the tonal range and exposure is very nice. I am going to assume from the title that the subjects are mother and daughter-in-law. They do have dark tops and somewhat similar expressions, but the sunglasses on just the one subject detract from further comparison, as does the difference in hair color.

I'm distracted by the crop of this image, it cuts off at their hands and legs. And there are a lot of detractors in the background, for me. I think it's a good idea, and I like that their expressions match.

This image has a great subtle attraction to it. Can't tell if it was set up or candid; either way you should be scared, very scared! (just kidding) Bumping a couple notches on the second look.
