To me this is just much too busy. I think that maybe using a much smaller dof, and just focusing in on one part of the branch or swithcing your angle to get sky only in the background etc. might have helped, also the lamp post coming off on the right is semi bothersome, but not terribly.

Putting the lamp in was just the right touch. Otherwise it would be cliche'ish.
