what a quiet and stunningly good photo - I remember this when I first went through, but on reviewing the entries I am amazed at how dramatic and emotive this is - 10

Awww poor thing! For some reason this works, even with the large frame which I don't normally like. Great job. 8

I've seen several other images with this type of "no highlights" editing. I think it works ok with this shot, although I wonder what having some brighter whites would do to it. It remeinds me of an old photo, which may be your intent. Composition and square crop really suits it.

Where's your whites? I would have Dodged some whites into this. It's very flat.

I really enjoy this but, find myself wishing for a bit more contrast, or at least some actual white whites...love the comp and the moment though, nice catch.

A little harsh on the tones...but this is a terrific composition.

oh what a tender photo - love the subject and the framing

processing kills this for me. I can see squashing your whites in the photo to bring out the subject more - but this just ends up lacking tonal range and contrast. A reprocessed version I'd give you a 7. This is great work -

This shot SO captures kids when they are bored. Very nice!
