Truck would have to be nissan or maybe a toyota. Popular back then non the less. You say your an avid environmentalist. What has changed now you would take the VW with you to a proper disposal facility? I mean really how much erosion are you worried about?

Pretty cool for a self portrait easy setup but you said its like 88 or 89, So it would end up being a film camera. Nice shot all together but i mean come on a sunken fender? You got sumothing to prove get a little more under the tire.
