what a sweet picture. i definitely would have placed this one well ahead of all the hackneyed wine-glass-on-colored-background shots. original, technically sound and relevant.

Its nice to see shot about science which also is artistic in some way. Very refreshing to see excellent texture in the leaves. The addition of the girl obviously adds fantastic perspective. Excellent work-you are essentially robbed of a top 10 finish.

Fantastic. Whatever that little one is actually doing, this photo really captures the look of true scientific interest in the tree. Oh and the whole thing just looks cool, too.

Very well composed, and I like the processing. Nice job separating the tree from the background ... wish that shadow wasn't on the tree, but not much you could have done about that. 7

What a perfect crop on this shot. This photo definitely proves that there is a place in photography for centered compositions. I love how the light skims across the grass, right to the little girl. I love how it lights up the trunk of the tree, making it glow against the dark, shady background. I just wish that it would have found it's way to all of the leaves. That is the only improvement that could be made on this photo IMO.

I would be so-o-o-o-o-o tempted to try to make those shadows in the tree spell something clever. All I can see is "NY Yes", though.
