This is a cool attempt but your framing looks awkward as does the blue light on his face. I think a slightly different shooting angle to show all the boys face (and not make it appear like he's soo close) would have been a big improvement!

I like your idea. Colors are good, but the lighting on his face is somewhat distracting. I would crop more of the right side which would draw more attention to his beautiful eyes.

The expression on the boy is great and the reflection off the vortex works well
the only thing that niggles me is that I expect the horizon to be level
I respect that reality may have been different.

There isn't much more captivating than the look of wonder in a young child as they explore science. This is very appealing on many levels.
