 When the warmer weather comes to MI, it's time to start planting. While planting new bushes for my front yard, I realized that from earth comes new life. Without earth (dirt), plants can't grow. This is a new bush in fresh soil. Now to see if I don't kill it this summer.

The composition kills this one. There's no central point of interest in the frame. True dirt is earth and one of the elements, but that alone is not enough to hold my interest

The shallow DoF puts too much of this image out of focus. Stopping down your aperture would help with this.

This is too blurry to be interesting. Also, the composition needs more.

it doesn't look like you have spent a lot of time thinking about how to set this up and instead looks like you have simply gone into the garden and taken a quick snapshot to use on this challenge. There is nothing particularly of interest in focus and the background is bright and distracting. For these reasons I vote this a 3
