 Religion as a subject often makes me think about the pain it has caused to so many innocent people. Stigmatas are one source of pain, though often self inflicted like in this case.

Setup:
For lightning I used two household lamps on both side of the hand and a bathrobe as a background. The hand is mine and I used my other hand to push the shutter button. I rubbed the hand with dirt to make it look less like nerds hand. The iron nail here is made of cardboard and duct tape. I burned it with matches a bit to make it look more rough and dark. I cut the "nail" in half and attached it to my hand with iron wire. The wire is hidden behind the thumb. The dry looking blood is a mix of ketchup and red pepper powder.

I'm pretty newb in post processing so I had to play with the adjustments a while to get the nicest looking result. I wanted to desaturate the image a bit but make the blood more visible. Finally I dodged and burned.

Good idea, lighting feels slightly off but good shot. And I'm sure plenty of people have pointed out the location is wrong so I won't ;)

I just commented on the other nail pearced shots...maybe there are more. This is very well done and I love the lighting. Maybe to graphic to score high but I commend you for submitting it anyway. 9
