Sorry, but I love seascapes. I got a graduated ND filter the other day and thought it would be a good test for it....look NO blown sky this time. This is Mattapoisett Harbor, in a couple of more weeks this will be full of boats, between 5-10 go in a day, this photo is only a small segment of the harbor. You can see Ned's Point Lighthouse off into the distance on the left. In my Portfolio is a picture of it...actually it was my first DPChallenge Entry.

Once all of the boats are in I'd like to get a nice panoramic of the full harbor, especially on a nice calm morning with some fog.

I like the photo a lot and think the composition is great. I do think that there is not enough contrast between the sky and the water but that's just an opinion. The other thing that distracts from the photo is the sensor dust since you are at f/14, I would clone them out of the sky. Still a neat photo!

Nice shot Jeff, heres a couple of things to suggest.. first, I'd try to get either harbour or sky, you've got a little too much of both and it is confusing to the viewer... sky or water? sky or water?..

Second there is a bit too much going on in the water, especially those ?sticks? I'd perhaps clone them out. Looks like a beautiful place and full of great shots, we'll be watching for more!

Hey, yeah! That GND is really working for you! This looks great. I'm like you, I love seascapes. I think everyone does. There's just such a serenity -- but with strength -- in the ocean. This captures that so well with the boats. I look forward to seeing your shots with all the boats. I bet that is a sight to behold!

is that why you are "CapeSail" because you love seascapes?

the picture is great.
the ND filter really makes a difference.
I look forward to seeing more pictures like this.
