To be completely honest, I kindof cheated for this challenge, I did it the other way around and just took a photo and then went looking for a username that fit the shot. This is shot well after midnight or 1:22 am, I really love living in Iceland during the summertime cause it never really gets dark here. I am going to go out regularly this sumer to take "nightshots" similar to this one cause the light changes so much after the sun sets but when it´s still bright outside, going to see where that will take me.
I really like this shot, it works well in a print, can understand it though if many of you think it´s too blue but I don´t really care, I like it this way. Used a tripod obviously and a polarizer to increase the reflection.
For post processing I did a raw conversion where I set the WB and contrast, then did two shadow highlight adjustments. After that I did a small color balance adjustment and levels+curves for contrast and brightness. Then came the fun part, I needed to clone out probably 50 dust specs, I REALLY need to clean my camera. Ever wonder why I shoot so many of my photos on a 5.6 aperture or bigger? That´s why :) What can I say, I am a lazy bastard :P Cropped to a 7:4 ratio and then finally used smartsharpen after resizing. |

| The image fits the username, that's for certain. Something about the color bugs me though. I don't care for the turquoise in it. It may well have looked EXACTLY like that, but it just looks odd to me. It also looks very cold! |
