 Not quiet how in envisioned it, but I had trouble getting a model.

This did have me learn something though. The flash was overpowering the ember on the tip. I had to drag-the-shutter to get the red ember to be captured past the flash. I'd never done it, but it's quiet simple.

I like the idea, but it pains me that the tip of the smoke is not in focus. Everything else is good.

I don't find the image to have a lot of impact - perhaps some more extreme vices might have got more of a response!

I don't think the selective desaturation particularly lifts the image.

Compositionally a nice image and the desaturated color of the Starbucks cup works well for a theme dep[icting that we are not quite awake yet when we get that first cup of coffee. The color in the cigarette looks off and out of place in this image and will probably hurt it in voting. Might have looked better if totally BW with visible smoke curling up from it or possibly with the whole cigarette in color.

Interesting image. The black and white creates a nice mood. But I'm not sure if the colour adds anything to the image, or is just a way to qualify for this challenge.

imo, my eyes are drawn to the glow from the fag, which is looks out of focus
