There is a halo around the bird that is fairly visible. I believe there is a brush in ps you can use to help blend this. (My first desat, so can't get specific.)

Good detail. There is a halo around the subject -- maybe from a selection or usm. Doesn't "bother" me (ie--doesn't effect the score), but I know with a variety of monitors it may/may not be visible to you.

The edges on this look a little sloppy... It looks like you did a lot of selective blur which is not as effective as using a shallower DOF.

Has th weirdest feel of having been cut out and pasted in, this; I'm sure it's just processing, but i don't like the final effect much

you're a glowing chicken? I would use a small brush and burn closer to the subject so it doesn't glow. Excellent detail though - very sharp image
