 Shot at Harkness State Park during lunchbreak using Tokina at 12mm. The gardeners were out and had just started to plant the gardens for the summer. I
Opened RAW image in CS2
Adjusted Exposure, Curves, Hue/Sat, Save as JPEG
Opened in Elements 3.0
Added layers - Adjusted levels, Brightness/Contrast
Added layer for Hue/Saturation - desaturated all but blue and magenta- adjusted hues to give all blue
Added duplicate layer of background -
Adjusted Hue/Sat on this layer - desaturated all but blue, magenta and green. Added these back in to image using selective mask on the flowers.

Selective dodge/burn to improve contrast and highlight some on the building and to bring back some detail in the step in the foreground that was somewhat blown out.
USM (~20,50,0) to boost contrast.

Peter - wow, this scored much lower than I expected. What a tough challenge. I really like the DOF created by the small bits of blue throughout the garden. This definitely deserved higher than a 5.5. I must say that is a striking bell curve on your scoring, however.

The blues in the right aren't obvious. Black and whites could be stronger.
