You lost me with the funky border.

Horrible border, sorry
12/29/2003 12:33:55 AM
I like the topic, the composition and its technically well made.
But the border!? Why did you choose these strong colors?
Still, a 7 from me
12/28/2003 06:22:39 PM
Like the idea of the gun also the perspective of it but I think the border is kind of distracting to the shot and also to the message I think you're trying to convey. I would've like it better without it.
12/28/2003 01:25:55 PM
I really don't feel the border enhances the photo.
12/28/2003 10:47:40 AM
The shot is nice, but I just hate this border.
12/27/2003 11:39:34 PM
what made you choose the happy-technicolor border?
12/27/2003 05:46:31 PM
a powerful image - the cold hard steel against the cotton

Would have like it much better without the border.
12/27/2003 02:15:26 PM
Well, if you have to use it you are on edge. Nice focus on the barrel's fron and I like the blurred background. 7

A well composed shot and a technically good macro with an ambiguous title, the misspelling of which diminishes its credibility.

The lurid psychadelia of the border feels like a thoughtless and naive addition considering the bold gravity of the subject.
12/27/2003 07:06:33 AM
This would be a very good photo without that gawdy border. That just absolutely ruins this.
12/26/2003 07:36:11 PM
Nice DOF. Unfortunately, IMHO, the border really detracts from the picture. It just doesn't fit for me, sorry.
12/26/2003 03:33:25 PM
Nice pic. Bad title, IMO. 7.
12/26/2003 02:35:42 PM
I don't know if you can get rid of the border, but it's really off-putting from the rest of the picture. Otherwise, a very nice photo.
12/26/2003 12:27:47 PM
your picture is fine, however, their is a boundary that needs some work. the frame is very distracting, and takes away greatly from your picture.
12/26/2003 07:43:14 AM
Great idea and composition, lighting works well here. :-) I also like the steely gun on the soft texture. I would love the photo, but... but... I hate your border. :-((( It's vivid colours clash the seriousity of your photo, it's too funny for your subject chosen. Just my opinion.
12/25/2003 11:18:02 PM
Excellent perspective, not sure about the border though. The soft bedding to the gun does soften the harshness of the weapon though. Nice colors.
12/25/2003 07:52:48 PM
great shot, border, doesnt work so wel.
12/25/2003 07:31:08 PM
Hate the edge on this
12/25/2003 02:15:25 AM
i really don't think the rainbow colored frame goes with your choice of subject matter.
12/24/2003 10:29:34 PM
speaking of boundaries, that border is a little harsh. wanted to resist saying it, as i'm sure 99% of your other comments will mention that (and likely that alone), but i couldn't. other than that, i like the capture of the barrel and the short DOF. opening the barrel also adds more background interest and i think makes it a stronger photo than if you had left it closed.
12/24/2003 05:23:24 PM
Nice image however I could have done without the rainbow border. I find it a bit distracting from the photo. A border should compliment the photo.
12/24/2003 02:46:03 PM
Nice photo of the revolver, but the border really sucks here, sorry. It distracts completely away from an otherwise excellent shot.
12/24/2003 10:54:03 AM
That border. lol. Nice photo.
12/24/2003 10:10:16 AM
shots not bad.. but that border is terrible... (5)
12/24/2003 10:10:05 AM
I don't know that the rainbow boundries apply here.lol
12/24/2003 09:13:29 AM
Excellent photo... great DoF. I personally dont care for the rainbow border.
12/24/2003 08:58:01 AM
That's some border you've got there.
12/24/2003 08:27:36 AM
Sorry but the border totally detracts from this photo. The photo has great focus, DOF and composition, but all i see is the border.
12/24/2003 05:29:52 AM
Pointing a unloaded gun at me isn't going to convince me to give a higher score. Too much of the picture is out of focus and the rainbow border is very distracting.
12/24/2003 04:13:03 AM
play with other mediums to sit the gun on. The softness of the cloth seems to contradict the evil of the gun.
12/23/2003 10:56:25 PM
perfect and vigorous - 10

It's really very hard to take the photo seriously with a rainbow border. The gun and the rainbow just don't mix.
12/23/2003 09:32:19 PM
This border doesn't follow the mood of the photo at all. If your shooting for effect by contrast, it's lost. DOF is awesome in this shot! Well done there. B&W might've given it more impact, as that bit of red is distracting, and B&W tends to direct more attention to shape and form. A nice composition, but why is the bullet loading thingy (very technical eh?) open like that? Perhaps I'm overlooking something here, but the shot may have a more direct meaning if it were not open. Very nice nonetheless 7 from me.

Interesting, but the border ruins it in my opinion
12/23/2003 07:38:27 PM
I would love to hear your logic behind this border and how it enhances the image. I believe it distracts from the image. It requires me to look at the border and wonder why rather than look at the image itself.
