 a dried leaf, a dried bug and a very dry summer here in the Philippines.

adjusted hues to turn everything to red, selective color to boost red then desaturated the leaf. a lot of sharpening and some dodge and burn.

Oh, I saw this one but didn't get around to voting on it. This is so cool! Wonderful image, and interesting title. The tones, the shadows, the lighting are superb, and all the violent contrasts are awesome. A brilliant image with a unique atmosphere.

Cool concept. I like the contrast, the black void, and the desat works well. Seems a bit oversharpened IMO. The bug? Certainly looks deceased. Good luck in the challenge.

Detail is exceptional and the desat is subtle and effective. Well composed, high-impact kinda shot without being overdone.
