This is a wonderfully original and seasonal take on the challenge.

Good points: See my first statement! Also the tonality here is very nice. Like the gold/train/pastel colors! Compositionally it's an interesting subject with neat framing.

Bad points: There doesn't really seem to be a focal point here. The whole shot is slightly OOF. There is also alot of noise in most of the shot probably because of the low light situation. The black portion doesn't really seem to fit with the rest of the shot. I also think that the train needs to be a more prominent part of the shot. This would help to focus the eye and give more emphasis to the wonderful perspective lines of the track!

My best suggestion is to pump up the light, play around with moving the train around a bit to find the best composition and keep shooting! If you can do a reshoot of this shot (I know the scene is kind of seasonal...) I would LOVE to see it!

Good lighting! The packages seem to make it heavy on one side though.

I like your idea with this photo. The front part of the track needs to be in focus, and I think if you waited until the first car was coming right at you, it would have more impact. That way, you'd still see the rest of the cars coming 'round the bend!
This photo's definitely worth trying again. Photo also looks a little dark, at least on my monitor. Hope this helps.

neat idea, but it's too poorly lit to work

Nice play on depth of field. The background is a bit morbid and dark for the title.

The indoor lighting makes the picture too soft and the gold cloth around the tree doesn't provide enough contrast. I might have tried cropping out more of the left to offset the train more in the frame (rule of thirds).

Not bad and the light is interesting. I do think your composition could of used some extra work. Maybe some presents to the left or part of the tree showing?

Great subject. Would have liked to have seen more of the train though.
