 I just took out a lot of yellow to make the red flower stand out like i wanted in to..i also cropped a little and i dont really like it but i wanted to enter my second challenge so we'll see

Hi Andy,
Nice effort white is tough sometimes. I do believe you are a bit out of focus & a touch over exposed. The red rose is out of place & your crop made it worse. Also the top right corner the glear is really distracting.

Excellent idea, just the image is over exposed and it is difficult to tell if the flower is also OOF - shooting a white subject with a darker background almost always needs manual setting and experimentation to get the correct exposure.

I think of smooth as having little or no texture.

I think you should have pulled the red rose out of there. It catches the eye and looks dead.

i love the photo! next time try a softer light. i think the flower is washed out from the harsh lighting.
