Howzitboy, Nixter, Thanks for those wonderful comments guys. Really boosted my confidence. I feel this was probably more luck than judgement but am slowly learning off some great/stunning work from this site.
Really appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Great capture! I love all the warm tones and colours. I like the composition with all the fly tying materials too. Perhaps the only change I would make would be to include all of the reel and fly in the frame. Very nice work and well done! |

what an outstanding job!! you took your neighbors challenge and out did yourself! just look at that shot. it should be in a poster hanging in a fishing store! such soft, warm lighting, such a nice balance of items with all kinds of textures. I bet most guys here would say, if they took this shot, that its their best work ever. Gratzz!! |

Thanks Guys for the very unexpected great comments. Posthumous, your comment is truly appreciated. I think thats what i wanted and take your point however the feathers in the background were materials that were used to make the fly so thought i would add them too the composition. My main intention was to have the real and lure in sharp focus and the feathers in a blur just to compliment the real.
I can see what you meen though now and will try better or think about it a little more in future compositions. Thanks for all your inputs, this is how i learn.
Thanks!!

IMO, everything under the lure is absolutely amazing! The PP is dead on perfect, I love it. But the lure and the feathers above it are somewhat distracting. Overall though, it's still a phenominal photo. I'm sure your neighbor thought so too. |

Love whatever processing you used. The metal looks smooth and cool. The lighting really added a nice complimentary effect. |

Warm, rich, soft and very much an inviting capture. I think you did an excellent job with this. A very professionally processed and presented image. |

My goodness, you certainly did make a fly reel look interesting. Great lighting and detail. For this particular shot, though, I think I prefer to see the whole of the reel, and not have it cropped off on the left. |

Excellent. You really brought out the sheen in the metal bits. |

This is a really beautiful image...it has a softness and professional quality...the whole arrangement is very well done...could grace the cover of a fishing magazine... |
