How lucky for you that your kids will sit and pose for you. Another nice shot with great lighting in the foreground and background. It's wonderful! |

This is stunning! I'm impressed. That fill flash / underexposure technique works very well - I often use it on close-up wildlife to pleasing (at least to me) effect. In this case, it really gives a wonderful feeling of depth. This photo makes me want to experiment on my own further with full flash technique. Well done indeed. |

Oh, Chrystine!! This is awesome! You have such a gift at these types of photos! The way she is dressed and that great open meadow she is sitting in makes you feel like you are part of a magical moment. This works so great in black and white too because of the great contrast with the hat and the whites on her dress. This is such a special photo!

Wow I love the tones and contrasts that you have going on here, and it is nice to be able to read how you did it
Great portrait too, your daughter looks completely lost in her own world which complements the tranquility of the setting)
Love;y image and certainly well worth rescueing |

I'm glad you are so happy with your newfound technique because I know I'm happy to keep getting a peek at the product. Again I find the lighting and the tones throughout the image to be very pleasing. Of the two, I prefer the first one you posted from this shoot but both are very well done. |

Wonderful shot and great conversion. The fill-flash method you describe sounds great, and you certainly used it to great effect here. I love how it allows for a darker sky and contrast with the clouds (which seem to have cooperated to point the viewer's eye to your daughter). The only thing I see is that her right hand looks strange; could be jaggies from sharpening, or shadows from the flash, but it almost out of place with the rest of the image. |
