Very nice - moody and effective. I like how you picked up all those highlights in the sand.

Love the sense of motion here. The man is a blur but that motion seems very appropriate to the mood here - a dark running man feel; a man in motion running from dark thoughts or his mood is dark as he runs from his emotions. Also by lucky capture (or planned) the clouds seem to radiate out from the center of his position in the frame thus helping draw the eye and keeping it focused on the moving man. I like the dark contrast and tones here for it adds to the mood. While I said that I get a capture of a dark man running I also get another 'story' capture from looking at this image. A ghostly figure that we only get a glimpse of as it passes by from the corner of our eye. If we then look full on at the scene I get the feel that the 'ghostly' figure would just vanish. Nice job with mood and lighting, I get two 'stories' from studying the photo.

No wonder you have 9 faves already on this image - it's utterly amazing. The textures in the sand, the clouds, and most especially the elusive running figure. Quite simply wonderful.

I love the darkness and texture of the sand against the sky. Brilliant shot.

Oh Nick - you blow me away - I just LOVE this shot. It's just SO RIGHT!

My only (teeny) gripe is the black bars on top and bottom, but who cares when the image is SO AMAZING!

To the favs without delay!

Quality shot without the runner.
With him it's my favourite in this challenge so far.

Not sure if i really want to fav another of your shots, you might get the wrong idea. :P

Great capture with a lot of good contrast and visual interest. I could do without the black bars, though. They don't add anything to the photo, IMHO.

Wow, this is my favorite so far. Really great image. I really like how the motion all moves to the runner. The lines in the clouds onthe R angle dowwn to him, the clouds on the L tend to do the same, the waves on the L are in motion while on the R tend to be calmer. I like how he is placed to help move from the foreground up into thru the midground (ocean) and then into the sky. Very dramatic shot.

This is terrific. Love the blur of the guy on the run. What a perfect setting. I wish I had a beach nearby. I like the framing as well. ;~D

Wow that's really cool! I love the sky and your border.

The whole image is really cool - I even like the border on the top - but it seems to get a little unclear due to the dark sand/rock

Only complaint would be the border. Other than that, another superb piece from the arsonist.

i'm not a fan of the frame, but i really like the shot. the person is cool, but i think the image would be fine without also.

I really like that type of frame. I've always thought they add such a touch of class to landscape photos without boxing them in.

The photo: Its so dramatic, and the lighting is so striking. This is really good! I decided that I reeeeeeally like your style :)

you have great imagination and an interesting 'eye' .. !! ..:) .. love this photograph, and the way everything is so dark ... the clouds and the sea are excellent and sort'v give a softness and contrast to the shoreline ... it looks like rocks, but it could be sand in the darkness .. wotever ... that person running out of focus is totally awesome, he/she/it!! looks like a suggestion of a person .. the border works ..

yes, i definitely double that!
this is really not fair that you pull out these kickass nz pictures one each day. how are we supposed to beat these? not that it's not hard to beat your street pics either, but i'm guessing at least even you can't come up with brilliant street pics each and every day ;)

i would have faved this, but i have a feeling there might be many more fantastic ones coming up?

Like we really need you and Nixter combining forces! Very nice image. I'm perhaps a wee bit distracted by the white bit on the right but still love the pic.
