this is a narly dead tree. For me though I would have liked a bit more separation from the background. Maybe a bit of dodgeing around the tree to bring it out more. |

The shadow adds a nice contrast to the pic. I would like to see some cropping of the space on the left - for me, it doesn't add anything to the pic. |

Hi Rosemary, great to see yet another TS member in this challenge! I like the tonal range here. Would like perhaps to see the wood more isolated, though. There are so many patterns that it may get a bit lost. I do think there is strength in the crossing of the trees in the upper 2/3 portion of the right-hand side. |

Geat subject...IMHO the shadow in the trunk is a bit much. |

Nice clarity everywhere. All of the textures make it seem busy. With some dodge/burn or filter lighting you could have highlighted the tree to make it stand out from the background. |

Maybe need just a tad more natural light to bring out the textures of this one..... |

One thing I find shooting b/w is that the textures need to be really simple. We can't rely on color to make our subject pop anymore, so the textures must do that instead. |
