This is my Grandmother and her dog Queenie. They've been together 14 years and are practically inseperable. Although this type of photograph is a departure from my usual subjects, it is very special to me personally. I hope you'll like it too.

Even though this challenge is running under Expert Editing rules, I didn't go beyond the Advanced Editing rule set on this image.

PP included: straighten horizon, crop, desaturate, duotone, levels/curves, color balance, selective color, dodge/burn, healing brush, sharpen, save for Web.

How sweet. It's a shame our dogs don't live a little longer. The relationship between a dog and his master is so special. I have had to say goodbye to several canine companions in my life time. But they wear out and we have to open our hearts to love a new friend. :)

Very nice portrait. I think the modern sunglasses are a funny out-of-place detail.

Love it. They both look so serious, yet the friendship there is very apparent. Technicals are excellent, but it's the humanity of the shot that makes it so good.

Love the monotone expression on both of your subjects. Good capture.
