used natural light from a window on a white backdrop. I though the rustic nature of the saddle and the hat were a good contrast against the shiny peppers. I did change the colors of the peppers. This is actually for a Friend's salsa label.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Welcome to DPC. I see this is only your second entry, and I hope to see many more from you in future Challenges!

Okay, to work on this entry: Good composition with the hat, saddle, peppers and the straw-like substance. If it was mine, I'd probably eliminate the white backdrop and add more of the straw to show off the peppers more. And yes, I would give that right pepper some more room.

Technically, I think this image is a bit out of focus. Because those peppers are the stars of the show, they should really be tack-sharp. And you have the lens to do it, too. That Tokina is a nice one! I trust you used a tripod. If not, (or if you don't have one yet) you can set up some books or arrange some surface on which you can place your camera to try for good sharp images. And then bracket your shots.

Good luck here at DPC! And I hope your friend likes her salsa label.

I love how there are simple tones contrasted against vibrant colors - it's a really unique and interesting shot! The only problem is that the quality is really low - I can almost see the pixels in a few areas, namely on the white hat. :( If it weren't for that... but this is one awesome image - keep trying!!

the peppers look almost metallic.. nice colors, but it makes the image look unreal, especially the red one, it just doesnt fit somehow. the hat is lovely and the texture is really nice.

This is an interesting shot that makes you think. The red pepper needs a bit more room.

the selective coloring looks very unnatural (primarily on the orange and red pepper), and does not come across as very appealling. like the composition, however.
