This shot looks oversharpened. Lots of artifacts around the edges of the old dead tree. Too bad, since this is a very dramatic shot. I also find that the frame is a bit much. A thinner frame would have made for a larger image and might have avoided the artifacts. Nice composition. |

Just an amazing shot! I love it. One of the best shot of this week. I love the B&W choice in this picture. I think the mist is helping you in this picture. No doubt, awesome picture. So, congrats for a fantastic work. Keep the good work. 10 |

Love the foreground tree and crop. Would have liked this to be bigger; some oversharpening evident especially in the back trees (halos). |

Wonderful composition, the dead (?) tree is well in focus and I like the softness of the background. :-) Although I like solid borders a much, this one is too distracting for me: it's too wide for my taste. Maybe the third would be fine. |

Superb subject. Like the crop too, and good call on both b/w and the frame (I usually don't like the frames so thick but this is very tasteful). I give it a 8, but I would give it a 9 if there weren't a slight oversharpening evident on the foreground tree (you can see it on the lower right side of the tree, the white line). Great job! |

great picture. but why is there this big wide border??? I thought the image will look better without it. |

Very nice shot. Border is maybe a little too wide for my taste, but a minor critism. |

Okay, since there's been much convo on borders, let's start there, I like it but I think it's too thick, makes it kinda distracting. Love the tree and the composition of th shot. The choice was a good one, IMO. Nice shot! |

Very good. A standout shot in this challenge. My only maybe is the branch running off the picture on the right. Therwise, an excellent shot. I like the cropping very much. |

Technical: Most all images submitted fit the challenge. This one fits nicely. Exposure composition focus lighting all very nice.
Personal: Love the photo. The border is overbearing for my tastes. I'd like to see more of that "screen real estate" used up by the photo itself!
My vote: 7

This looks over sharp and over saturated. |

One of my favorites this challenge. I find the wide black border to be quite overwhelming, but I love your shot. Composition is wonderful. |

Perhaps a tad oversharpened? |

I usually don't care for a real bold border, but it worls very well here, especially with the b/w...well done |
