Very interesting lighting and evocative image. I like the grain and the way the highlight on his lower face outlines his mouth. |

Erin, as I go back and review your portfolio of the 30 days so far that you have shared with us, you have produced an amazing assortment of thought provoking portraits of your beautiful children. This by far is one of your best. The grain, light and intensity in the eyes of Daniel are absolutely wonderful! Bravo!! |

Yikes but this is an awesome portrait. It has your classic disappearing focus that begins at the eyes and diminishes rapidly, even to his mouth and eyebrows, making for a startling and stunning portrait of him centred around his beautiful eyes. Add to that the light source at the bottom, and the light source providing the hard (in relation to the rest) catchlights, then add to that the very expert use of noise/grain, and WOW. The almost-square crop is a great choice. This is very striking and stunning. Knowing what little I do, your comments and title make me wonder about the circumstances of this photograph, and I feel of two minds in admiring it. |

This sure is a beautiful portrait! I love the effect of the grain. It really enhances this particular photo and conveys his personality.
