 There are lots of circles in this image, but 3 main ones, and there are recurring shapes that make the shape of a 3. That's why I chose the title that I did.

Camera on a tripod, tilted, white surface with a white screen behind that the light is bounced off. Manual focus. The shallow DOF was to make the product look bigger. I would have made it shallower if I could.

This was mostly a way for me to get good at lighting things. I think I did an alright job, since I've not really tried high-key photography properly before.

Editing: Levels - Resize - Sharpen - Clone out a few dust specks - Save

I think this is a really fine product shot.

With the december rules you could have removed the shading in the lower left and the right side that would have given this the perfect crisp appearance.


I think you have the DOF spot on. I really wouldn't want it shallower. This way you can make out the details of the entire object, but still be focused on the leading edge.


Possibly a little more room to the left, the crop is a tad tight.

Nice crisp contrasty image. I think it cold be improved with a more difffuse light source to soften the shadow.
I think you'll get plenty of questions as to how you did the ³ in the title!

I like the capture of the metallic textures. I think a bit more depth of field would improve this shot as the colored panel could lead the viewer more into the picture.

I like your creative choice of DOF. I think the shadow helps ground the shot and add some balance. Nicely done

A little reflection on the front edge is distracting.
The crisp chrome would have look nicer on a very white background. The background is not evenly blown out, but it is good none the less.
