I love the sharpness to the hair and the subtle blurred effect added to the background. Very interesting.

Theres a lot of horse eye photos out there (and yes, I'm guilty many times over too!) this one is nice and sharp with good color. DOF could be a bit longer so bit more of the eye was in focus. Composition could be more interesting as well. Perhaps getting the eye itself further away from center would help and letting more of the forelock show too.
