Things I like: I love the blue tone of the glass. I also like the way the bottom (stem?) of the glass glows also. You used the rule of thirds nicely with the bonus of good negative space also.
Things I don't like: This shot looks like it's too soft focus. I'm reasonably sure that it's because the glass is frosted giving off a glow. The stem portion of the glass does look in focus, but it's very hard to see. It needs more light either from within or externally. I like what you CAN see of it, but it's more of a distraction because it's hardly visible. I find myself trying to figure out the exact shape rather than enjoying the overall affect.
Good concept. Keep trying with this (if it's not too frustrating.) If you figure out how to get a great one I'd like to see it and how you did it!
