Greetings from the Critique Club:
This image is a sort of collage of shapes and during the voting my reaction was that it is too busy, there is just too much going on. As far as meeting the challenge, then, it is hard to make a fit when the direction was to make the shape the primary subject of the image. It is also hard to feel that the kid is enjoying this experience with the downturned mouth and half-closed eyes. My suggestion would be use either the silliy glasses/nose orthe magnifying glass and keep the subject simpler. The image could use some overall sharpening and brightening as well. It's a fun idea and the fact that you and your son were playing around together could make a powerful and lasting image with some attention to the emotion you wish to present. |

Pretty creative shot... Should have had the subject smile maybe to make the shot more appealing. |

I quite don't know what to make of this shot. The magnifying glass doesn't really add much to the image, since it didn't actually magnify anything. It just looks like it's in the way of showing the silly glasses. The expression in the boy's face has no emotion, so it is not very fun to look at. Could use some overall sharpening as well. |

There is a lot going on here - the shape of his face is covered with a false shape - the nose, glasses and eyebrows, then the magnifying lense further playes with the viewers perspective on the shapes in the imagel. It is eye catching, and amusing, but a bit busy. Wish there were a bit more light from the left side of the picture. |

Love it. The crop, missing part of the lens, is very effective indeed. |
