Challenge: Night Shot IV (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 Di II LD Aspherical (IF) for Canon
Location: My car
Date: Apr 9, 2007
Aperture: f/7.1
ISO: 100
Shutter: 30
Galleries: Travel
Date Uploaded: Apr 10, 2007

To set the shot up I first put the tripod in the back seat (2 legs in the floor and one on the seat) and pressed the front seats against the legs of the tripod for stability. That didn't give me the location I needed for the view I wanted so I let the seats down in my hatch and set the tripod up in the hatch. Focused on the center of the dash and set the 10 second delay in order to give my hands time to get back to the steering wheel (yes, I myself pressed the shutter while driving...don't have a remote release). This will probably be another stinker but I don't care.

Post processing:
Levels and curves adjustments on each Red, Green, and Blue channels as well as master channel. Adjusted color balance, saturation of individual colors, shadow/highlight adjustments, unsharp mask, and despeckle. Cropped, resized, saved for web.

I guess if I had a nice luxury car instead of a sport car this one would have turned out better. That's the best I could do with a rough suspension though.

Cool shot, but it looks a bit fuzzy. Whatever that is in the center of the pic (stereo?) is overexposed, and it takes away from the rest of the image.

very cliche

Great idea but IMO a little too much image blur inside the car 7

Creative, but seems fuzzy.

nice job keeping the camerea steady for the long esposure. I've tried this before and i always seem to get more blur to it.
