 Taken in Battle Alley located in downtown Holly, Michigan.

It's part of the historic district that's said to have been the scene of frequent brawls. In 1880 a bunch of workers with a traveling circus were jailed after a fight and the street got it's name. Also Carry Nation came in 1908 at the request of the prohibition committee to stop men from drinking.

Now that the history lesson is over (smile) I took this photo at about 11 p.m. in about 25 degree weather. It was just beginning to snow. I'm in debt to my husband who was willing to be my model for this shot. I used a star filter to get the star effect on the lights.

PP - changed to antique, bumped up the sharpness a bit and slightly cropped.

If I could have I would have cloned out that meter above his head - it's a bit distracting - but oh well. Gotta love basic editing! It is what it is. Hope you like it!

the starbursts are cool, but i think this would really work with a white balance that was much cooler

The lamp lights are too distracting it takes away from everything.

I like this picture, but maybe a different white balance would have given a better color (I'm not much a fan of the nighttime yellow-orange light).

Great effect with the dueling lights and the solitary guy in the cowboy hat. Tone and composition appeal to my imagination :-)
