Laurie, the 10 was mine; I am so surprised and disappointed to find that this only placed at 126. You used the contre-jour technique effectively, and in the way that I understood it to mean; the photograph is well composed and aesthetically pleasing, and holds lots of interest outside of a mere study of the technique. All in all, very good work - and the fact that it is a photo that has such personal meaning for you makes it even more special; I am glad that you are able to use photography as a way of coping with your grief - I am sure Byron would adore this photo!

Boy, if you could have exposed this to get more detail on the bird you'd have an amazing shot here.

This is beautiful. but true contre jour doesn't have much bokeh as the photographer is looking into the light. I'm sensing it is off to the side somehow.
