That flare is really hurting this. I think you could get away with not including the sun in the shot and that way avoid the flare issues. Perhaps focus more on the lines the trees formed and whatever interesting shadows they produced on the ground. Long shadows especially would convey "morning" pretty well I would think. Just a thought.
