I think your concept needs to be clearer visually. Although it may seem obvious to you, the fact that this house is ancient is known only by your caption. I also think the modern railing is too subtle to contrast with the scene -- everything seems in its place.

I think this would have had more of an impact if you showed more of the fence and house and less sky

Not too fond of the large amount of negative space in this image considering the lack of detail/substance in the rest of the image. I like how the rail meets the shoreline. Nothing to indicate the age of the house and if the fence is supposed to be the modern safety portion (??) I don't see it - fences are hardly modern. JMHO.

A very beautiful picture, but the anachronistic nature of the shot just doesn't jump out at me.
