Distance to subject, angle of view, and lighting are effective in conveying a sense of thinking about the past. Out of focus areas also contribute, but need some work in their implementation, imo, as they look too spotty. What the heck is that electrical cord doing dang smack in the middle of your picture???!!! Ruins the affect for me.

I liked the photo, but the blurring seemed a bit messy to me. For example, a bit of the blur was caught on the chair, which was predominantly in focus. Could be just me, though.

this is a really nice image that tells a story...I love the composition and the reflections...my only negative is the soft blurring that's a little inconsistent around the subject...but that's my only one 8

I love this picture, although in my opinion the blurring looks extremely false and overdone which is a real shame. That said, great use of light and good composition

Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning.
